Hi,

I have an interest in this product but was wondering, is the Crypto++ library integrated in a way that will allow for it to be replaced with another crypto package, e.g. RSA BSafe?

No. The crypto++ library is implemented by a DLL, but you could only replace it with another crypto++ dll. Also, if you need to run in FIPS mode, Absolute will only run in FIPS mode with the NIST certified version of the DLL. You could theoretically take the FIPS crypto++ source code and recompile the binary, but as FIPS certification is done at the binary level, only the one that ships with Absolute will be recognized as FIPS certified and run in FIPS mode.

Thanks Brian,

Yes I know how FIPS works, I'm assuming that you are claiming FIPS 140-2 compliance based on Crypto++'s cert and that Absolutue Telnet has not been certififed as an application. It's too bad the crypo provider can not be switched out, still looks like a great product though.

Thanks

John
