It appears that you enabled SFTP to use the download directory under the transfer tab to be the default directory for SFTP in a previous release. This no longer appears to be working. Was this removed for a reason?

Yes,

Download directory and SFTP default directory are now no longer the same. More often than not, this was confusing people. Download directory is now only used for x/y/zmodem downloads.
