When I logon to a BBS (At least ones running Synchronet) I get garbled ansi characters. Ive tried VT100, Ansi, Xterm etc and get the same result.. (Just a side note that I do not have this problem with Hyperterminal Private Edition)..
Any Ideas?

This is usually caused by an improper setting in the character set translation. Check Options->Properties->Appearance->Translation. For a BBS, the setting should probably be 'CP437', providing the old DOS character set.

Give that a try and let me know.
