Is it possible to add fonts
using fonts from my Windows fonts directory?

AbsoluteTelnet uses Windows as its source for fonts. Any available Windows font should be available in AbsoluteTelnet, with one caveat:

Due to the fixed width nature of the terminal client, only fixed width fonts are supported. Proportionally spaced fonts, such as Arial and Helvetica will not be available, as each character is a different width.

Thank you, but I'm still confused.
Absolute Telnet has several fonts that
are not found in my Fonts folder. For example
8514oem, Terminal and Fixedsys, are not
in my Windows 2000 Fonts folder, but do show
up in the Font list of the
Options->Properties->Appearance->Font.

Another problem, perhaps a bug?, is that
selection of the "Font style" does not change the appearance of the terminal font.
For example, using Lucida Console, 8pt font, and trying to select italic, I can see the Sample window change to italic, but without effect. (The Apply button of the Appearance folder is still greyed out after selecting 'Ok').
I presumed that there might have been an operator
error on my part in setting up or installing
the program on my PC. (Note: this behavior is identical on Windows 2000 and Windows NT)

You're right, those fonts aren't in the Control Panel fonts folder, I never really noticed that before. They are, however, provided by Windows. Just look in Notepad or Word or any program that lets you choose a font and you'll see them as available selections.

As for font styles, those aren't ever applied to the terminal window. The host controls things like bold, underline, etc and user choices are ignored.
