What version of Absolute and what version of Windows are you using?

Check to make sure you have the latest firmware update for your modem. THis is the most common problem I see, especially with Windows 7.

Right.

What I'm saying is first you may need to check the firmware on the serial to USB adapter. If it is not working, check to see if it is compatible with Vista, then check to make sure you have the latest firmware for it.
