Hello, I'm from Germany and I have a problem with AbsoluteTelnet 10.15 since the update to 10.16 out.
The program can no longer start and crashes immediately.
As already the same error by 10.14 at the publication of 10.15, I guess that has to do with the update check or notification.
Even a fresh installation (in german) had not helped.
Only the test with an installation in English had success.
It ran through flawlessly and showed me the note on the update to the new version.

I traced this down to a buffer overflow caused by German language text that was longer than the English text and overflowing a buffer. This had the unfortunate effect of causing the application to crash at startup, sometimes with no feedback that it had even tried to run and no error message. There is a strong possibility this could also happen with other languages as well.

The bug is in the 'new version notification' dialog, so only causes havoc when new versions are deployed (sigh) The workaround is to either:

1. Reinstall your current version in English, at least temporarily and decline the update
2. Install the latest version from the website

This has been fixed in the 10.16 update, but many prior versions will continue to be affected by this until they are updated.

A truly nasty bug, hardly something to discover.

Who really testing foreign languages and update notification at the same time, so in combination.

But cool that it is fixed now, thanks.
