Running hot for no reason?

A few times lately I've seen Absolete Telnet
start taking up 95-99% of the CPU. Just now; it
had been running for a couple of days, I opened
a new window, changed my mind closed it and
opened a new tab, went to do something else and
everything ground to a halt. I shut down all
5 tabs and nothing changed - not til I closed
Absolete telnet entirely did I get the CPU back.
Any ideas? I'm on 5.08 but don't want to upgrade
unless there's a good reason.

I believe there was an issue with this in the early 5 versions. Is it reproducable? If you could, please download and try the latest version and I'll bet the issue goes away. If you purchased Absolute within the last year, the upgrade will be free anyway. If not, it will at least run in trial mode so you can see if the problem is gone.

Well, it's been more than a year (2/06) so no
free upgrade. Since the problem happens
sporadically, maybe once a week, it's not easy to
see if it goes away. Not sure I can go on in
trial mode that long - I am mostly trying to get
my job done and boy that gets in the way.
