Hi,
I am trying to work out how I can customize the keyboard mappings within AbsoluteTelnet V1.8.4

In this case, I need to creat a custom keyboard template (something EXPRES) with the key mapped to send ^B etc.

Is this possible and if so, how?

TIA!
Shauno

Shauno,

1.84 does NOT have the capability to edit keymaps. However, the BETA of version 1.85 DOES contain this functionality. If you want to give it a try, download it here:

The functionality exists in Options->Properties->VT Options under the 'edit keymap' button. You can enter an alternate text string for any combination of key presses. ^B can be specified as hex like this: \\x02

The keymap is stored inside of your connection file, so you can have keyboard definitions set up differently for different hosts. Some default terminal type specific keymaping has been located to the 'keymaps' subdirectory of the installation directory, so if you want to override program defaults, you can edit those keymaps by hand.

Please let me know how this works for you. I'm still in the process of finalizing the functionality in 1.85.
