Hi,

I'm currently running a trial version of v6.28 and am liking it a lot (running it side-by-side in my trial in comparison to SecureCRT). My initial impressions are that SecureCRT looks more slick but AbsoluteTelnet is in a different league in terms of pure functionality.

One suggestion I would like to make would be to shade/fade the tabs of the connections that are not currently being viewed. The intention being to make it easier to see which tab is the active tab.

Regards,

Steve

Steve,

Thanks for the kind words. I *do* agree that the tab selection is not always obvious, especially if you're using 9X, Win2k or WinXP with the *old* windows classic theme. However, the tab appearance is completely governed by Themes in XP and above. The default XP Theme gives an orange bar at the top of a tab to indicate that it is selected. I don't recall at the moment how it appears in Vista. I'll consider some alternatives to make the selected tab stand out (adding an icon for example), but I can't do much without dumping themed tabs altogether.

Hi Brian,

First of all *ahem*!! ditching the tabbed browsing is not a option 😉

I understand what you're saying about themes having an effect, although I hadn't thought about that before you mentioned it. Top tip - don't enable "transparency" on Vista, else your menu-bar becomes lost in the sea of everything on your screen and it is -so- difficult to find it again! What was I thinking about 😉 made me laugh as well tho'!

Cheers

Steve
