Connection document problem 19 Years, 5 Months ago
I am using AbsoluteTelnet 2.13, on Win2K Server SP4. I just moved to a new machine, re-installed Absolute, and re-applied my license file. When I double-click on a connection document (an old one, or a newly created one) the application launches and I get a "gethostname failed Winsock error: Host not found" error. When I check the connection properties, I find the path to the connection document in the Hostname field fo the connection tab. When I right-click the connection document, I don't see any of the Abslolute properties. If I choose File-Open from within Absolute, that same connection document opens fine. Uninstall and reinstall didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?

That's a known issue. Try the beta. It fixes it...

OK, I'll try the beta...but what about my license?

The beta version posted on the Yahoo beta forum is too old---it refuses to run because it has expired. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have for me.

Sorry, here try this one:

http://www.celestialsoftware.net/telnet/AbsoluteTelnetBeta.exe

As for your license, the problem you reported is not related to your license. It is a bug in the version of AbsoluteTelnet you are using. When you apply your license, it should say 'AbsoluteTelnet is now registered to (your name here)'. If it does that, there's no problem with the license.
