When I connect from Absolute Telnet on Windows 7 or 10, to our servers running Ubuntu 18, and edit a file using vi, it puts a p character at the cursor location in the editor. I'm attaching a screen shot.
It's not persistent and cleans up if I resize the AT window... but extremely distracting. I'm still on AT 10.16 but tested on demo version of 11.22 and it's still the same.
AT and vi work fine on Ubuntu 16. While this is happening I'm not letting them upgrade my own box so this is on some other machines I use less often... but Ubuntu 16 is EOL next year...
It's possible that the new features on Ubuntu 18 and/or vi are the issue - I haven't done any customization of ubuntu display or vi and my IT folks stare at me in disbelief when I tell them about this.
side note: the demo version sure is annoying nowadays! How are use supposed to know if you can use it or not, with text blopping around the screen and obscuring your file contents?
