Ok, let me get this straight....

You have an ssh server running at home, using no-ip for dynamic IP and an SSH client to access the server from outside of the network. You have a video camera you want to access remotely via SSH port forwarding.

First question... Where is the camera? On the client or on the server?

So, the camera is on the client PC outside of your network. The client PC is connected via SSH to your WAN. You want to access the camera from inside the WAN.

Can the camera communicate using TCP/IP?

What port does it listen on?

Re: Port Forwarding 18 Years, 9 Months ago
Sorry I took so long. I got side-tracked.

Ok, so the camera is on the client PC "COMPUTER A" outside the WAN

The client PC is outside the WAN and connected to the server vi SSH.

'COMPUTER B' (inside the WAN) wishes to connec to the camera on port 9000.

'COMPUTER A' should set a forwarded port (server to client) on port 9000. 'COMPUTER B', then, can connect to port 9000 on the server, and this port will be redirected to port 9000 on 'COMPUTER A'

Hope this helps
